review agenda and set time limits

Old Business

  1. Library soundproofing work will start in January, sooner if the contractor's schedule allows.  He will work around scheduled events in the building and finish all the trim in the library and lobby and fill gaps and soundproof wherever needed.
  2. Adding storage/closets in the dharma hall---We want to be careful with changes, paying attention to how things look, and will proceed one step at a time.  First, a closed cabinet approximately 30"x36"x12" will be added on the south wall in the corner by the women's bathroom.  A second cabinet may be added. Don McClary will be asked to start this project.   A robe closet in the library was also approved by the board.  BIMS is ok with this addition, and Chris Burkhard will look for a ready-made closet.
  3.  Volunteer jobs:  The food shoper position may be filled.  The clerk position will be open starting in January.  Anyone interested can contact the treasurer.
  4. The sangha may look into doing some volunteer service in the community a few times a year.  Tim will be the contact person for anyone who is interested.
  5. Tim and Chris are working on the membership directory and it will be available soon.  John is working on revising the membership form.  The board will review the membership list and volunteer interests next month and may poll members  about their volunteer interests.

New Business

  1. Marti Bartlett has volunteered to join the board as treasurer, replacing Talus.  Please give us your feedback by the next board meeting December 3rd.
  2. The annual meeting will be Saturday January 3rd from 9:30-12:00.
  3. The board may look into the FaithTrust Institute---a nationally recognized organization in Seattle, involved in ethics training for faith based organizations.  The Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center is also a resource.
Next board meeting is December 3 at 5:30pm.

Respectfully submitted.  John Wiley.  Secretary
