An Exploration of a Mahayana Classic

Join us for a continuation of our exploration of the esteemed Lotus Sutra. Filled with fantastic imagery and famous parables and teachings, the Lotus encourages both devotion and wisdom through it's exuberant exploration of skillful means (upaya).

Everyone is welcome: Feel fully invited to join whether or not you attended our Lotus exploration in the Spring. If you're new, or want to review, watching at least the first of the 5 recordings from that class is recommended. Find them all here.

This text is probably the most popular and influencial Buddhist text in East Asia with several Buddhist schools who revere and study it as their primary teachings. The Lotus Sutra was deeply studied by Dogen and is revered in our liturgy before a meal when it is listed along with the primary Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

Everyone is welcome and be aware that you'll benefit most from this class through active engagement: home study and practice will be invited.

Teacher: Taught by Guiding Teacher Nomon Tim Burnett.

Schedule: 6 Monday afternoons, 4:00pm - 6:00pm (Pacific time) from October 16th to November 20th.

Location: Online in our Zoom Zendo.
