Wilderness Dharma Program Committee

The purpose of the Wilderness Dharma Program (WDP) committee is to establish methods of practice for our hikes and outings, train hike leaders, act as collegial support for each other, and to be a vehicle to pass on this leadership role to others over time through set methods and protocols, ensuring safe and ritually consistent approaches to this wilderness dharma work for many years to come.

Tasks

  • Maintain and update the program's series of events each year, and provide leaders for each event.
  • Members consult with and mentor each other to grow as trail guides, particularly in the areas of safety, ritual enactment and group dynamics.
  • Provide financial research and advice to the Board as requested.
  • Membership is offered occasionally by invitation to some of those who have hiked with us for several years.
