Learn the basics of Chinese and Japanese calligraphy in a relaxed environment. We'll explore a little about the history of Chinese ideographs, learn how to hold the brush and make the basic strokes and brush a few characters.
Optionally: those with Dharma names will be invited to learn one or more of the characters in their name.
Schedule - Fridays 1pm - 3pm August 5th - September 2nd (yes on August 19th after all!).
Attendance at all 4 sessions is recommended but drop-in is okay.
Registration Fee - Offered on a dana basis. Please consider making a dana (teacher) donation after each class you attend to support the teacher. It is essential that you do the RSVP Registration so Tim knows how many materials to set up.
Instructor
Nomon Tim Burnett is a beginning calligrapher himself. He studied for a year with Vancouver based teacher of Chinese calligraphy Kathy Pak and with Kazuaki Tanahashi at two of his weekend workshops.
