Becoming a Member

We invite you to practice Dana (generosity) by joining Red Cedar as a member...

Becoming a member means committing to support the Red Cedar community. Membership is a way we practice Dana, the generosity practice that has sustained Buddhist communities for 2,500 years.

For over 35 years, Red Cedar Zen has shared Soto Zen practice in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, author of Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind. The community gathers together for daily and weekly meditation, Dharma seminars, classes, and retreats led by experienced teachers and leaders - both in our temple and on Zoom. Private counsel and support is also available with our teachers.

This is made possible by the generosity of our members and donors.

To join, scroll down to choose a monthly donation level that suits your means. Members give anywhere from $10 to $150 per month (with the option to give annually, if that better suits your needs).

How are membership donations used?

Membership donations helps keep the temple doors open, covering mortgage, heat and electricity costs, pay our small staff, and provide a stipend for our Guiding Teacher. Our generosity-based model allows Red Cedar to offer Dharma seminars, classes and retreats for no or low fees.

Red Cedar Zen Community is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and donations are tax-deductible.

Thank you for your practice and support!
