We hope to reschedule this event due Covid. Please stay tuned.
An affordable silent 3-day Zen meditation retreat with a focus on daily activity.
Join us at the beginning of July for three days and nights at beautiful Camp Samish Retreat Center.
Sesshin is silent practice of sitting and walking meditation, formal oryoki bowl eating of locally sourced delicious food, Dharma talks and dokusan with Red Cedar Zen's Guiding Teacher Nomon Tim Burnett.
This sesshin features an extended work period each day to put our practice into action and help Camp Samish with critical projects. In exchange for which the camp offers us a reduced fee.
Schedule: Arrive Sunday between 4pm and 5pm (bring a sack dinner, none served). Then daily 6am to 9pm. Closing on Wednesday at after clean up around 5pm.
Prerequisites & Requirements: Prior experience of at least a one day sesshin, or equivalent, is required.
Scholarships: We recognize that even this reduced fee can be a barrier. Scholarships available on request.
We have rented the Community of Christ's wonderful camp at the eastern end of Samish Island for over a dozen years for our residential retreats. A wonderful place where sea meets sky.
Red Cedar Zen Community is a 501(c) non-profit organization.
