An intensive long day hike to the source of the Nooksack River: Nooksack Cirque.
This long and strenuous hike in and out of the the Upper North Fork drainage is largely off trail on rocky terrain. Plan on a full day, hiking at a good pace, and wearing hiking boots. At the Cirque we will perform the years final Exchanging Water ritual in the ice caves amid waterfalls, transferring water from the Salish Sea with mountain glacial water, which we annually perform at the headwaters of all three branches of the Nooksack,

A very early start is essential to have sufficient daylight for this long day hike. Meet at the downtown Food Coop for carpooling at 5:00am or at Nugent's Corner at 5:30am.  If you are new to this hike a telephone or email exchange with Bob to determine your fitness for the journey will be required to complete your registration.

NOTE: In case of high water this hike may be cancelled

To come on this hike please RSVP with the registration form. Click the "Register" button to the left to start the process. There will be an opportunity during registration to make a dana offering if you choose (details on Dana Paramita here) and you may also make a dana offering at any time on the Dana page. Unlike our "indoor" retreats dana is not generally collected during the event.
