Join us for an 8-week study group on the fundamentals of our way of practicing Zen with Heigaku Talus Latona and Shudo Chris Burkhart.
Our gateway into Zen will be the book What Is Zen? by Norman Fischer and Sue Moon. Their book offers a friendly and accessible deep dive into the style of Soto Zen Practice we practice here at Red Cedar. Studying the book together with sangha friends guided by one of our experienced teachers is a wonderful way to learn more about what we do together and to nourish and deepen your practice.
Each meeting will include a meditation and a discussion of one or two chapters of the book.
Please purchase a copy of the book prior to the first meeting. Reading the introduction and Chapter 1 is suggested, but the discussions will allow for people who haven't been able to read the material. It's available at our local Village Books, at Amazon, and other booksellers.
Meetings: 8 Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:00pm from October 5th to November 30th (no meeting on November 2nd).
Location: Study group meetings will be held in our Virtual Zendo - click for access information.
