Talk Notes:

In this talk I commented on the final two verses of Vasubandhu's "Thirty Verses on Consciousness":

Verse 29 -
Without thought, without conception,
       this is the supramundane awareness:
The overturning of the root,
the ending of the two barriers.

Verse 30 -
It is the inconceivable, wholesome,
         unstained, constant realm,
The blissful body of liberation,
the Dharma body of the great sage.

In the talk I read and appreciated chapter 29 of Ben Connelly's Inside Yogacara, and discussed his summary that this poem brings up four key practices:

  • Explore and appreciate the storehouse consciousness :
  • Practice mindful awareness of present-moment experience
  • Understand that all conditioned phenomena are interdependent
  • Feel into the empty nature of reality with nondual meditation.
