The Art of the Koan—summer art series
Please join us for a 4 week class on the Art of the Koan.
For the first half, we will be reading two pre-selected Koans each class, with their commentaries and our own reflections and discussions. We will be using the text, The Hidden Lamp, Stories from Twenty-Five Centuries of Awakened Women. (If you don’t already have this text, copies of the selections will be provided for you.)
For the second half of each class, we will be working in our accordion journals provided, (Orihon) using words, images (from paints, soluble crayons, pens, etc.) and/or cut out photos in any combination to express our manifestations of the Koans.
Looking forward to our creative journeys together!!
