The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee helps establish a supportive and welcoming practice environment in which new and longtime students of Zen Buddhism, including all backgrounds and demographic characteristics, can practice together.

Tasks

• Meets regularly in a safe, open environment to discuss DEI issues as they relate to our practice and sangha.
• Keeps the sangha current on DEI issues.
• Proposes and helps plan and coordinate events and activities designed to make Red Cedar Zen a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community.
• Advocates for accessibility of online resources, Zoom meetings, and in-person activities; and helps implement accessibility solutions as needed.
