After our Opening Ceremony (1/16) and beginning the Shuso's Class (1/23), Practice Period continues to open with a one day formal Zen Sesshin on Saturday February 2nd.
The practice of sesshin is a powerful opportunity - watching the sun rise in the morning and set in the evening from your seat in the zendo. The day includes sitting and walking meditation, Dharma Talk by the Shuso, dokusan with the teacher, formal oryoki meals, breaks, and afternoon tea.
Schedule: 6am - 5pm sesshin oryoki breakfast and lunch.
Oryoki: please bring a 3-bowl oryoki eating set. They can be purchased from our friends at Still Sitting for a reasonable rate.
Options: unable to attend the full day? Join us for just the Shuso's Way Seeking Mind Dharma Talk at 10:30am.
If you are attending the sesshin plan on committing to the full schedule (modified schedules with extra rest due to physical need can be arranged with the Ino).
Practice Period: You are welcome to attend this sesshin regardless of your level of Practice Period attendance. Practice Period students are strongly encouraged to attend if possible. See Winter Practice Period 2019 - overview & registration.
And note that separate registrations are required for whichever of the following practice period events you'll be attending:
