Our 3-day sesshin to open the Practice Period with Guiding Teacher Nomon Tim Burnett and this year's Shuso (head student) Juriki Samuel Senerchia.

Look forward to alternating sitting, walking, ceremony, formal meals, a daily Dharma Talk and opportunities to meet privately with the teachers.

All are welcome to access the deep practice of sesshin regardless of how many of the practice period events you are able to attend.

Daily Schedule:

Friday 7pm - 9pm
Saturday & Sunday 7am - 8:30pm
Monday 7am - 3pm  (Labor Day)

Meals: You will need a 3-bowl Oryoki set at this retreat. Instruction on Oryoki eating will be provided, no problem if you've never eaten oryoki before. You can purchase a set from our friends at Still Sitting (please order the Navy Blue cloths). Red Cedar Zen is not able to provide loaner oryoki sets at this time.

Attendance: If you can’t attend full time in person, you may register for any whole day. Please attend the Thursday evening orientation if possible.

Dharma Talks: All Practice Period participants are warmly invited to attend the Dharma Talks in person or on Zoom, even if you aren't attending the sesshin. In person - arrive 5-10 minutes early. Friday and Saturday at 10:30pm.

Saturday 10:40am: Juriki Samuel Senerchia's Wayseeking Mind talk
Sunday 10:40am: Nomon Tim Burnett talk on the meaning of Practice Period

Registration: Is required for this event. And, have you shared your Practice Period intentions with the teachers at Practice Period 2026 Application yet?

Zoom Attendees: The sesshin can be accessed via the Zendo page, specifically under the heading Online Zendo where it says "Enter Virtual Zendo on Zoom."
